Our Commitment to Accessibility

Matrix Insights believes that our software should be accessible to everyone, regardless of disability or impairment. It is our firm belief that an accessible application makes a usable application, and accessibility best practices and standards should be the foundations of great software. As websites and applications become more rich and complex, our dedication to ensuring accessible software becomes even more important. Suggestions for improving our accessibility solutions are always welcome and encouraged.

If part of the Matrix Insights platform is found to be inaccessible, we will work diligently with the identifying institution to determine the severity and resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe. For more information please email us your request:  support@matrixinsights.com

Evaluation

VPAT
Many of our customers also refer to the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) as the standard for assessing vendor accessibility. The VPAT outlines criteria of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. While there is certainly more to accessibility than supporting VPAT criteria, Matrix Insights acknowledges the value in adhering to its standards.

WCAG 2.0
Matrix Insights strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 A & AA as a basis for building accessible, rich applications. These guidelines tend to be more specifically suited to web applications compared to the standards set forth in the VPAT.

If part of the Matrix Insights platform is found to be inaccessible, we will work diligently with the identifying institution to determine the severity and resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe.

Testing

Our development team makes testing a priority when it comes to screen-reader compatibility and VPAT/WCAG adherence. Prior to the regular releases of new features, Matrix Insights developers and designers use many testing resources and tools to ensure we are doing our best to deploy usable, accessible software.

Qualitative Feedback
On occasion, our customers will choose to run a manual-accessibility audit on various components of the Matrix Insights platform. Any findings are always documented, and concerns are addressed immediately. Matrix Insights utilizes the consultation of accessibility experts to ensure that best practices are followed and emerging trends are observed. We have also established relationships with disability services offices at local universities to solicit qualitative feedback on new features or areas of high usage.
